Description
The Koi fish is one of the most ubiquitous symbols of fortune and perseverance during adversity. A Koi fish swimming signifies a struggle or fighting against opposition, and is a powerful reminder to never give up. In ancient China these fish were known to attempt swimming upstream in the yellow river, but only a few of them were able to swim past a point called the Dragon’s Gate. Legend has it that the ones who succeeded were rewarded by being turned into dragons.
My Koi fish ring is hand-made from gleaming 925 Sterling Silver using techniques dating back to over 6,000 years ago (more info here). The Koi is attached to the band with quite a small surface area, so the fish appears to be swimming up the finger. Each piece is made to order and hand finished by me. Shipping times may vary due to demand. Expect to wait about a week on average. Comes with an Urban Sterling certificate of authenticity in a wax sealed envelope. Please let me know in the comments section of the checkout who you’d like me to address the certificate (if its a gift).
I craft all Urban Sterling rings from 100% sustainably sourced precious metals. The mining and refining of the silver I use is guaranteed to not cause, support or benefit unlawful conflict, or contribute to human rights abuses or breaches of international law. You can read more about Urban Sterling ethical practices here.
I produce rings using US sizing. Please make sure you have the correct size since it is very difficult to resize a ring like this. I’ve provided some sizing charts here for your convenience.
