Private Commissions.

One story. One piece.
Private Commissions
by Mason Mignanelli
Each month I take on a small number of private commissions. Slots open as current work is completed.
Never Repeated.
About Commissions
A lot of jewellery tells someone else’s story. Custom work inverts this: you bring the meaning, I bring the metallurgy.
This isn’t about creating something pretty. It’s about forging a physical anchor for what already matters to you; a memory that needs weight, a principle that deserves permanence, a symbol whose meaning belongs to you alone.
Made once. Never repeated. Your monument, not mine.
Never Repeated.
Studio Principles
Custom work finds its place at the intersection of personal significance and permanent form.
Strong concepts come from lived experience; beliefs, changes, and moments that demand form.
Urban Sterling’s design language blends architectural precision with emotional weight. Each piece pairs strict geometry with symbolic reliefs or engravings, using light and shadow to create depth. The tension between refined surfaces and raw storytelling defines the form, modern structure meeting mythic substance.
The Process.
How commissions work
1. Share your concept
Outline the story or idea you want brought to life. No sketches needed, just an idea.
2. Submission review
I review each submission and invite forward the concepts that align with the studio’s direction.
3. Design consultation.
We refine your idea together, defining form, symbolism, and material before production.
4. Craft & Delivery
Your piece is made by hand in the Newcastle studio, finished, and delivered worldwide.

While I wish I could bring every vision to life, strict capacity limits must remain in place to allow me to give each project the focus and artistry it deserves; custom pieces aren't something that can be pumped out in volume.
I read every brief personally and I make every effort to review your request promptly and respond promptly so you aren't left waiting.
- Commissions begin around $1,200, with Argentium silver signets typically around $1,600-$2,800. Solid gold and platinum heavy-builds typically range from $6,000 – $15,000+. (You’ll find further detail in the Custom FAQs.)
- Average production time is around 6-8 weeks. Rush orders are possible by arrangement, depending on the schedule and the complexity of the piece.
- A deposit is required to begin work. This secures your place in my calendar and covers the initial design and modelling stages. Deposits are non-refundable once work has started, as each commission involves significant hours of dedicated craftsmanship.
