CUSTOM FAQS
Considering a custom piece? Here’s what to know.
Each custom request is an opportunity to create something personal and enduring. I’ve put together this guide to answer the most common questions and make the process smoother for both of us, leaving more time for the part that matters: design.
What do you make?
You can explore my portfolio and shop to see the range of designs I work with. I create pieces in Argentium silver, yellow, white, and rose gold, as well as platinum and base metals such as brass and copper. I can also source and set precious and semi-precious gemstones. I don’t source antique stones but I can set them if you have your own.
Pricing and project scope.
A note on transparency: In this industry, “Price on Request” is often code for “We want to see what watch you’re wearing before we quote you.” I don’t like that game.
Here’s as much info as I can give you without a specific design brief:
- Simple silver rings start around $1,000, think simple text engravings or icons.
- More complex silver rings with moderate engraving are around $1,500; this’d include engravings with lots of stylised text, or illustrations.
- Complex silver rings with intricate engraving are around $2500, think family crest designs, detailed illustrations, large sculptural features.
- Gold or platinum pieces vary depending on size and metal choice. For an average sized piece, add roughly $3,000 for gold or $2,500 for platinum. The metal weight (and therefore cost) can change a lot depending on the design; a medium signet in gold can easily reach several thousand dollars in material alone.
- Gemstone pieces vary widely depending on the stone type and size. A diamond or large custom-set stone will naturally push the price higher.
Let me show you some examples, ascending in cost. (All prices in AUD).
These ranges are indicative only, every piece is quoted individually after concept review.

How long does it take?
Typically, it’s about 6-8 weeks if everything flows smoothly. Extensive design changes may extend the process to around 2 months. Extremely complex one of a kind projects that require R&D may exceed 3 months. You’ll know if this is you.
Rush orders are occasionally possible depending on workload.
Can I pay in installments?
Absolutely, and this is actually the default. Payment is usually 50% upfront and 50% upon completion, but I’m flexible if you need alternative arrangements.
Can I request design changes after seeing initial drafts?
Yes, I offer essentially unlimited revisions, working with the expectation that we’ll make adjustments until the design is just right.
Do you offer a warranty?
Every piece comes with a 99-year comprehensive warranty, covering unlimited free restorations with no limitations. Your jewellery is made to last.
What if I don’t know my ring size?
No problem, I can express post a free ring sizer to you, which should arrive by the next business day.
