Overview
I was whinging in an IG story a while back that street photography was super dead in Newcastle; there’s like 3 people in the whole city that I’ve ever seen do it. I want more people involved, and what better way to do it than throwing jewellery at the problem.
So, I’m running a street photography competition with the prize being a full jewellery loadout: 2-3 rings, a necklace, and a bracelet. You get to pick which ones you want. It should add up to around $1k of free stuff. The competition won’t be limited to Newcastle, but I’ll prioritise any shots from around here. I’ll also give you a phenomenal fist bump if I see you out there with a camera.
Submissions required by 15th April.

Rules
- 3 photos allowed per person.
- Photos should adhere to ethical standards. Images that exploit vulnerable subjects and situations or that infringe on the dignity of the individuals captured won’t be eligible. Basically just don’t be a dickhead.
- Entries must adhere to the genre of street photography, capturing unposed, spontaneous moments of everyday life within public spaces. Focus should be on the candid interaction between subjects and their urban environment.
- Obviously, the photo must be your own work and previously unpublished. I don’t want everyone dumping their best photos from 3 years ago and calling it a day.
