What is Argentium Silver
Argentium Silver is essentially a modern, upgraded version of sterling silver, which was “invented” in the 1300s by King Edward the first. Although the history behind this alloy is rich and fascinating, in my experience sterling silver leaves something to be desired in terms of appearance and durability. Will your rings turn my finger green?
No they won’t. This occurs when rings are made of low quality materials and plated to look like silver. Copper, for example, will produce the green finger effect. Argentium silver is the highest quality silver alloy available, so it won’t have this effect.

I offer change of mind returns for store credit. If your piece has any quirks you think shouldn’t be there, let me know and send me a some photos. If it looks like a workmanship problem I’ll issue an immediate full refund or replacement upon return postage.
Bought the wrong size? The course of action depends on whether the ring is too small or too large. If it’s too small, just send it back and I’ll size it up for free. If it’s too large, I’ll have to charge you a $70 resizing fee, since I’ll need to cut the ring open, remove metal, and solder it back together. This is fairly time consuming, hence the fee.

This ring is inspired by Albert Camus’ existentialist interpretation of the myth of Sisyphus. In the myth, Sisyphus is condemned to roll a boulder up a mountain for eternity, only for it to roll back down every time he nears the top. Camus saw this as a metaphor for the human condition — the endless struggle against meaninglessness.
The piece features a detailed 3D model of Sisyphus and his boulder, set against an oxidised background to symbolise the black sky of the underworld. An excerpt from Camus’ famous quote, “The struggle itself is enough to fill a man’s heart,” is subtly engraved behind him, blending into the background to keep the focus on Sisyphus’ eternal task.
Each crack in the boulder and every stone in the mountain was painstakingly modelled. I use a scalpel to burnish the finer details within the crevices for every copy made.
The raised border is engraved with “The Happiest Man,” reflecting Camus’ idea that, despite the absurdity of his fate, Sisyphus finds contentment in the struggle itself. The name “A Cheerful Fate” is engraved inside the shank, and the mountain range above it is a nod to Sisyphus’ eternal home.
One final touch is the “DEOS RIDE” below the name of the piece. Meaning “Laugh at the gods” in Latin. This is a reflection of Sisyphus’ exploits against the gods that let to him being imprisoned in the underworld in the first place.
This ring encourages the wearer to reflect on the resilience of the human spirit and to find meaning and joy, even in life’s most challenging moments.
